Phuket –

A crew member has been rescued after falling from a boat off Phuket.

The Royal Thai Navy based in Phuket reports they were notified that a boat crew member on a fishing boat fell into the sea near Kaew Noi Island South earlier this week.

The Royal Thai Navy went out to search for half a day before they saw the boat crew member Mr. Eakkarat Limsomboon, 43. He was wearing a life jacket and waving on a rock at Kaew Noi Island.

Mr. Eakkarat was weak and had some scratches. He said there was strong winds and waves. The boat was swaying before a large ice box on the boat hit him and he fell down into the sea. No one saw him fall initially. He tried to shout for help but no one heard him and he swam toward the island nearby.

He was taken back to the land and to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
