A Engelbert Humperdinck concert will be held on Samui Island for the first time in the ‘GALA DINNER WITH THE KING OF ROMANCE ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK’ tonight (August 22nd).
The concert will be held at the Centara Reserve Samui Hotel. The concert is held by Tourism Council of Surat Thani and relevant tourism associations in Samui and Surat Thani.
Engelbert Humperdinck is a world famous singer who is well known as the ‘King of Romance. His most famous song is ‘Release Me’. He is now 86 years old.
Engelbert Humperdinck said to Thai media, “This is my first time arriving on Samui Island. I have received a warm welcome from the Thais since I arrived at the Samui Airport.”
Mr. Worasit Pongpan, the president of the Samui Golf Association, told Thai medua, “Engelbert Humperdinck is on a concert tour from Bangkok. So this is a good chance to hold a concert on Samui Island too. Leftover income from expenses of the concert will be given to the Green Island Foundation to support environmental conservation and preservation on Samui Island.”
“This is a good opportunity for his fans to know more about Samui Island. In the future we will hold more global activities on the island to boost tourism and support environment activities.” Worasit concluded.
