Two vehicle accident leaves nearby motorbike rider injured in Phuket after wheel flies off of crashing vehicles

Thalang, Phuket –

  A motorbike rider was injured after a sedan crashed into a large truck, causing the truck to overturn and a wheel to go flying in the direct path of the motorbike rider, causing them to fall.

The Thalang Police was notified of the accident at 2:00 A.M. today, August 18th, 2022, on Thep Kasattri Road in the Sri Soonthorn sub-district.

Law enforcement and the media arrived at the scene to find one injured person who was the motorbike rider. The overturned truck with various goods scattered was on the road nearby. The damaged sedan and the motorbike were also found nearby.

All drivers involved had their identification withheld by Thalang police pending a further full investigation of the accident.

Witnesses told local media that the sedan crashed into the back of the truck before the truck overturned . The truck wheel came loose and the motorbike rider crashed into the wheel.  Police are checking CCTV footage nearby to find the exact cause of the accident and to consider legal charges.

As of press time, the motorbike rider remains at a local hospital, the other two drivers were not injured.
