UPDATE: Officials meet with taxi drivers to discuss about ‘stealing customers’ issue in Patong

Patong –

Patong Police and officials from the Phuket Land Transport Office (PLTO) met with taxi drivers in Patong to discuss about a ‘stealing customers’ issue.

Our previous story:

The issue has gone viral on Phuket’s social media on August 11th. Taxi drivers who are stationed at a taxi stall in front of a hotel near Kalim Beach in Patong have posted papers on power poles nearby.

Officials met with those taxi drivers later. The Patong Police Chief Lieutenant Colonel Poom Semworanon told the Phuket Express, “Taxi drivers told us that they are worried about unregistered taxi drivers or as they call them ‘’Black Number Plates’ who are picking up customers. There were some misunderstandings. They did not mean to stop registered ‘legal’ taxi drivers. However, we have told them to be good hosts to welcome tourists and give them good taxi service.”
