Surat Thani has welcomed more thanĀ 57,000 tourists during a long weekend between August 12th and the 14th, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) reported on Sunday, August 14th.
Nanthawan Siripokphat, director of TAT’s Surat Thani office, revealed that there are approximately 57,243 people traveling to the province, 32,604 were Thais and 24,639 were foreigners.
The average rate of hotel booking is 54.39 percent with an average of 3 days. The TAT expected that the total revenue of tourists’ spending would be approximately 455.84 million baht from the average spending of 3,100.43 baht per day – 2,507.28 baht per Thai tourist and 3,695.99 baht per foreigner.
Nanthawan added that the reason whyĀ every tourist attraction was bustling was due to good weather.
“The sea is beautiful recently and worth visiting, especially on all three popular islands. Koh Phangan was holding a full moon party, Koh Samui had a trail competition, and Koh Tao had a lot of diving tourists. Several tourist attractions on the mainland such as forests, water pouring, and Ratchaprapa Dam were also busy this weekend,” she stated.
