Phuket to hold traditional Baba Wedding with parade

Phuket –

An annual Phuket traditional Baba Wedding event and parade will be held in Phuket Old Town to boost local tourism next month.

The Phuket Vice Governor Amnuay Pitsuwan told the Phuket Express, “This year the Baba Wedding will be held on September 3rd to September 4th at the Phuket Old Town area in Talad Yai sub-district. The event is aimed to support cultural tourism and to boost the local economy.”

The Phuket Cultural Director Mrs. Jantana Sittipan told the Phuket Express, “The event will be started with a parade of the Baba Wedding from the Pearl Hotel to Phang Nga Road to Phuket Road and end at Thalang Road.”

“The Minister of Culture Mr. Ittiphon Khunplome will officially launch the event. There will be many traditional Thai-Chinese in the wedding event with many local Phuket food products. Please come and join the event,” Mrs. Jantana added.
