UPDATE: No illegal foreign workers found in entertainment venues in Kamala, said Phuket official

Phuket officials said no illegal foreign workers were found in entertainment venues in Kamala after an inspection following complaints.

A representative of entertainment workers filed a letter to relevant officials to suppress alleged illegal foreign workers.

The Phuket Employment Office Chief Mr. Pichit Singthongkam told the Phuket Express, “We inspected eight entertainment venues in Kamala area, Mueang Phuket district over the weekend after the complaints. We have not found any illegal workers.”

Meanwhile officials also inspected eight entertainment venues in Phuket Town area which they said no illegal workers were found.

The Phuket Express notes that officials did not inspect Patong, which is where many of the complaints stemmed from.
