Phuket tourism associations jointly organized “Thailand Surfing Championship 2022” and “Phuket Surf x Beat 2022” at Kata Beach this weekend, August 6th – 7th, attracting a number of domestic and foreign tourists.
The events, operated under the cooperation of the Surfing Association of Thailand and the Phuket Provincial Business Association, featured many activities such as skating, surfing classes by national team athletes, DJs, beach yoga, b-boy performances, swimwear fashion shows, award-winning film screenings, musical performances, fire shows, etc.
The surfing competition was staged for the second time at Kata Beach as it was a famous and beautiful tourist attraction on the island. The event was also aimed to stimulate the domestic tourism economy and water sports for local entrepreneurs in Phuket after a long stagnation from the Covid-19 epidemic.
