UPDATE: Owner of Phuket night club where fatal shooting took place must meet with authorities, says Vice Governor

Phuket –

An owner of a night club where a fatal shooting took place earlier this week must meet with relevant authorities before any further action is taken, said the Phuket Vice Governor.

Our previous story:

A 35-year-old Phuket night club guard has been charged with murder following an armed altercation with a clubgoer earlier this week.

The Phuket Vice Governor Anuparp Rodkwan Yodrabam told the Phuket Express, “We have issued a document to inform the night club owner to meet with administrative officers by this Thursday (August 4th) before 4:30 P.M.. The owner must specifically clarify to officials about the club’s closing time and the factors involved in the fatal incident. After that, we will consider about the night club license and any further potential actions against the club.”

TPN media noted the shooting incident happened about 5:00 A.M. in front of the night club area. The legal closing time currently for entertainment venues is 2:00 A.M.

The name of the club and owner, however, continue to be withheld officially by law enforcement pending the interview later this week.
