Driver dies after pickup truck overturns in Thalang

Thalang –

A driver has been pronounced dead at the scene after his container pickup truck overturned in Thalang this morning (July 28th).

The Thalang Police was notified of the accident at 6:20 A.M. on Thep Kasattri Road southbound near a gas station. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a container had split off from the pickup truck. A tree on a central reservation and a road sign were also damaged.

The driver, identified only as Mr.Sak, 34, was found on the road outside the pickup truck deceased. His body was taken to a local hospital.

A witness familiar with the situation, but who did not want to be named, told The Phuket Express that the driver was heading to Phuket City from Krabi to deliver goods for a mall. The pickup truck’s tire exploded before the pickup truck driver lost control. The pickup truck crashed into the tree before the container on the pickup truck split and the driver was thrown from the vehicle.

However, police are checking CCTV footage nearby to find the exact cause of the accident.
