Thief on motorbike allegedly snatches gold necklace worth 35,000 baht from motorbike driver in Phuket Town

A male thief who was riding on a motorbike allegedly snatched a gold necklace worth about 35,000 baht from a motorbike driver in Phuket Town before speeding away.

The Phuket City Police was notified of the incident at 8:00 P.M. last night (July 20th) on Yaowarat Road near a hospital in the Talad Yai sub-district in Mueang Phuket district. They arrived at the scene to find Ms. Kawissara Pakakaew, 25.

She told police, “I was driving my motorbike before a male thief who was on a green motorbike snatched my gold necklace worth about 35,000 baht from my neck before speeding away. The thief was wearing a full motorcycle helmet so I couldn’t identify him.”

The Phuket City Police told The Phuket Express they are hunting for the suspect.

Mean while in May a male thief who was riding on a motorbike allegedly snatched a gold necklace worth more than 30,000 baht from a motorbike passenger in Phuket Town.

Phuket police have told local media they have already identified a suspect who was riding on a motorbike and allegedly snatched a gold necklace worth more than 30,000 baht from a motorbike passenger in Phuket Town last month. The story has been brought back by social media again as the suspect is still on the run.
