Phuket is planning to build a sky walk in Rawai and a glass terrace at Surin Beach in Thalang.

A meeting was held earlier this week for a public hearing at the Rawai Municipality and was led by the President of the Phuket Provincial Administration Organisation (PPAO) Mr. Rewat Areerob, and the Rawai Mayor Aroon Solos.

Mr. Rewat told the Phuket Express, “The sky walk full design and blueprints are expected to be completed in November of this year as scheduled in the contract. The meeting was aimed to listen to ideas of residents in Rawai which will be used to improve the design.”

“The sky walk is being designed for 50 people at a time with a 250 million baht budget. Rawai Residents have agreed with the project. The sky walk project will not have a negative affect to the environment and local life nearby.” Rewat stated.

“The sky walk will be a new land mark to attract more tourists to Rawai and Phuket which will generate more income to Rawai and Phuket. The sky walk will allow tourists to see the beautiful views of Rawai and Phuket though glass.” Rewat concluded.

TPN notes the current artists renditions of the project are not final designs.
