The Phuket City Municipality is inviting people to join in the tsunami evacuation drill on Wednesday, July 20th.
The drill came after the Phuket Governor has ordered relevant officials to stay updated and keep a close eye on oceanic earthquake situations.
The Phuket City Municipality says the evacuation drill is ‘Table Top Exercise: TTX’ style. The drill will include warning practices, evacuation drills, and shelter management.
The drill is aimed to prepare for any disaster to prevent loss of life and damages as well as to ensure safety for residents and tourists.
The seven risk areas for the evacuation drill in Phuket City are Saphan Hin Public Park, Sane Suk community, Kor Pai community, Soi Ton Poe community, 40 rooms community, Phuket Vocational College, and Bang Naew Municipality School.
The drill will be on July 20th, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. onward. The shelter for the evacation drill will be at Sanam Chai on Narisorn Road in Talad Yai sub-district, Mueang Phuket district.
