Phuket –

A distressed woman has been rescued after jumping from a bridge in Phuket Town this morning (July 17th).

Kusoldharm rescue workers were notified that a woman had already jumped from the Gor Jan Bridge in the Talad Yai sub-district at 5:35 A.M.

They arrived at the scene to find the Thai woman, aged 31, in a canal near the bridge. The water in the canal was shallow and she was pulled up from the water before being taken to a local hospital.

Her name was withheld per our editorial policy on suicide-related stories. It was not immediately clear what led her to jump from the bridge and she did not answer any questions about the incident.
