Kathu district organizes Kathu Cultural Road to promote local culture and traditions between 15-17 July

Kathu, Phuket –

Officials from the Kathu district have organized the “12th Annual Kathu Cultural Road” event between 15-17 July 2022 to promote the culture and traditions of people in Kathu.

Phuket Deputy Governor Amnuay Phinsuwan presided over the opening ceremony of the cultural event, joined by Kathu Municipality Mayor Chaianan Suthikul, government officials, and visitors.

Chaianan stated that the event was eventually held in 2022 after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 outbreak. It is aimed to pass on and promote the traditional culture and the beautiful environment of the Kathu district as well as to extend the culture to the tourism industry and boost the economy of the local community with the food, culture, clothes, and relationship of local people.

The event also features exhibitions to honor His Royal Majesty the King and the tradition of paying homage to ancestors, cultural shows, a mining exhibition, food and beverage, and entertainment activities.
