Today, July 13th, marks the auspicious birthday anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali Krom Muen Suddhanarinatha.
Her Royal Highness the Princess was born in 1957 in London, England. She is the eldest child of Mom Rajawongse Adulakit Kitiyakara who is an older brother of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
On 3 January 1977, she married current King Maha Vajiralongkorn at the age of 19 and had one daughter, Princess Bajrakitiyabha of Thailand, in the following year.
Their marriage ended in divorce in 1991. However, King Bhumibol Adulyadej gave her a new title as Phra Worarachathinatdamat (meaning ‘the mother of the king’s first grandchild’). She retained her title as the princess and remains a member of the Thai royal family since.
