The Thai Meteorological Department warns of heavy to very heavy rains in most parts of Thailand and strong wind and waves in the Andaman Sea, from July 11th to the 14th.

According to the announcement, a monsoon trough lies across the upper North and the upper Northeast into an active low-pressure cell over the upper South China Sea from Monday to Thursday, resulting in more rains across the overall country.

Heavy to very heavy rains are forecast in some places of the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East, and the South regions.

The affected areas are as followings:

North: Chiang Rai, Phayao, Lampang, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun

Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani

Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon and Nakhon Pathom, including Bangkok and its vicinity

The stronger winds would force waves in the upper Andaman Sea to reach 2-3 meters high and more than 3 meters during thundershowers.

Meanwhile, the waves in the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are expected to be about 2 meters high and more than 2 meters high during thundershowers.

In the lower Gulf of Thailand, the waves are forecast about 1-2 meters high and about 2 meters in thundershowers.

The Department also warns all ships to proceed with caution and keep off during thundershowers. Small boats in the Andaman Sea should keep ashore throughout the whole period. People should beware of severe conditions that may cause flash floods and take more caution during thundershowers.
