Seven boat crew members rescued after boat capsizes in Krabi

Krabi –

Seven boat crew members have been rescued after a cargo boat capsized in Krabi yesterday (July 4th).

The Royal Thai Navy in Krabi was notified of the incident at 3:00 P.M. and informed that the “Andaman Smootie 999 cargo boat” had lost contact with their parent company since 2:00 P.M.. The navy and the Krabi Marine Police went out into the sea for a search.

At 3:50 P.M., they found seven boat crew members near Don Krabi. The seven stranded individuals were rescued and taken back to land while the boat capsized and sank under the ocean.

Authorities continue to warn fishermen to stay at shore currently if they have small and medium sized boats due to intense wind and waves as a result of strong seasonal weather.

The crew did not release a public statement on the cause of the incident as of press time.
