Phuket –

The main hospital in Phuket has announced that they plan to propose that Covid -19 will be labeled as an endemic disease from today (July 4th), 2022.

Our previous story:

Phuket is planning to announce Covid-19 as an endemic disease after Covid -19 new and confirmed cases have continued to decrease in the province.

The Vachira Phuket Hospital which is the main hospital in Phuket located in Phuket Town announced yesterday on their FaceBook page (July 3rd), “We have an important announcement, as the Thai government will be announcing Covid-19 as endemic disease from tomorrow (July 4th).”

“The Vachira Phuket Hospital will cancel services for Covid- 19 self-isolation and home isolation from tomorrow. Anyone who has been infected and has worsening symptoms can come to the respiratory clinic at the hospital every day from 8:30 A.M. to 7:30 P.M.. For emergencies please call 1669. For more information please contact 076-254200.”

The Phuket Express notes, however, that the Thai Government and Center For Covid-19 Situation Administration, or CCSA, have previously stated that any announcements on labeling Covid-19 as endemic would not be discussed until Friday, July 8th, as can be seen in THIS article. It is unclear if there is a disconnect between organizations or if changes may be made. As of press time, no official announcement from the CCSA has been made around labeling Covid-19 as endemic.
