Phuket Police hold marine rescue drill as more tourists arrive

Phuket-

The Phuket City Police held a marine rescue practice to upgrade safety as more tourists are visiting Phuket recently.

The practice was held this morning (June 29th) at Boat Lagoon Pier in the Koh Kaew sub-district, Mueang Phuket district. The practice was launched by the Region 8 Police Deputy Commander Major General Saksiraj Pueakam.

Major General Saksiraj told The Phuket Express, “The drill was jointly run by the Phuket City Police and marine rescue departments which is aimed to ensure confidence for residents and Thai and foreign tourists on marine safety.”

“After Thailand has opened for foreign tourists, more of them are coming to Phuket. Most of the foreign tourists like to visit beaches and islands in Phuket.” The major general stated.

“So, it is important that we have to upgrade our marine safety as well as prevent crimes. This is our job to take care of residents and tourists with the best safety we can provide.” The major general concluded.
