Group of dolphins spotted off of Chalong, Phuket – VIDEO

Phuket –

A group of dolphins were spotted off of Chalong in the Mueang Phuket district over the past weekend.

About five dolphins were spotted by tourists on a tour boat while they were traveling from Chalong Pier south of Phuket to Maithon Island and Coral Island. The group of dolphins was found near Maithon Island off of the Wichit sub-district. The dolphins were playing in front of and around the boat.

Mr. Nikorn Prapayosapat, the tour boat operator, told The Phuket Express, “Tourists on the boat were very lucky that the dolphins have shown up very close to the boat. It has been two months since dolphins were last seen in this area.”

“Maithon Island used to be well known as ‘Dolphins Island as dolphins were usually seen After Covid-19 has relieved, more dolphins are being seen. This might be because the environment has been restored after a long time of no tourists and tour boats.” Nikorn explained.
