Walking Street Sunday market in Old Phuket Town generates at least two million baht per week, say area officials

The Phuket Walking Street Sunday Market, also well known as ‘Laad Yai’ has generated at least two million baht per week.

The Vice President of the Old Phuket Town Community Mr. Somyos Patan told the Phuket Express, “The Phuket Walking Street Sunday Market is one of the most famous places on the Thalang Road in Old Phuket Town that foreign tourists have visited.”

“After the Covid -19 situation has been relieved, more tourists are coming to the walking street weekly market on Sunday. There are more than 500 shops and stalls at the market where most are presenting signature items of Phuket food and products with music along the road.”

“In the past month, the market has generated at least two million baht per week. We have also focused on Coivid-19 measurements to ensure hygienic safety.” Somyos added.
