Now update:
The Phuket Provincial Police Commander Lieutenant Colonel Sermpan Sirikong told The Phuket Express today (June 11th) , “The three foreigners are still in custody at the Phuket Provincial Court. They are still denying all charges. They insist to talk in the court process only which they have their rights to do that. They have refused to answer any questions from law enforcement or the press.”
“They also have the right to request bail. However, it also depends on the court if they will allow bail or not and law enforcement is concerned about the potential flight risk of the suspects,” Lieutenant Colonel Sermpan added.
The three foreign suspects who were present when a Russian woman plunged to her death have also reportedly sought the aid of their respective embassies and legal protection, even as the case gained major publicity on Thai media.
The suspects are currently being held on a minor drug possession charge and the recklessness causing another person to die charge.
