74-year-old driver dies after his truck falls off a hill in Chalong

Chalong –

  A 74-year-old driver has been pronounced dead after his truck toppled from a hill in the Chalong sub-district this morning (June 10th).

Emergency responders were notified of the accident this morning in Soi Nakok, Chalong sub-district, Mueang Phuket District.

Emergency responders and The Phuket Express team arrived at the scene to find the overturned truck down a steep hill in a dense forest near Soi Nakok.

The Thai driver, who was later identified as Mr. Deen Jaruek, 74, was found 20 meters outside the truck, having been thrown from the vehicle during the accident. He was pronounced dead by the emergency staff at the scene of the accident. At this stage, Mueang Phuket police believe that the truck driven by Mr. Jaruek, which was carrying bags of sand, lost control when coming down the hill.
