Monkey caught after reportedly disturbing residents in Thalang, Phuket

Thalang –

A monkey was caught after reportedly disturbing local residents and damaging houses in Thalang.

The director of the Khao Phra Thaeo Nature and Wildlife Education Center, Mr. Pongchart Chuahom, told The Phuket Express yesterday morning (June 2nd), “We were notified from local residents Wednesday (June 1st) of a troublesome monkey. The monkey was disturbing local residents and damaged their houses at a housing estate in the Pa Klok sub-district.”

“We arrived at the scene before calling for help from the Kusoldharm Rescue Foundation in Phuket Town. They sent animal catching experts to help. A male macaque was found on the roof of a residential home. Rescue workers finally caught the pesky monkey.” Pongchart stated.

“The macaque was taken to the Khao Phra Thaeo Non-Hunting Area and safely released in the jungle, putting an end to any monkey business.” Pongchart concluded.
