Wichit, Mueang Phuket –

A 59-year-old has been rescued after trying to jump from a pedestrian bridge in front of a school in Wichit yesterday morning (June 1st).

The Wichit Police was notified of the incident at 8:40 A.M. in front of a school in the Wichit sub-district, Mueang Phuket – district.

Wichit Police arrived at the bridge to find the distressed and emotional man on a pedestrian bridge. A good Samaritan was trying to talk with the man. Police and the good Samaritan finally convinced the man to come down from the bridge.

The man was later identified as a 59 year-old local resident (The Phuket Express is withholding his name). He was taken to the Wichit Police Station for his own safety but wasn’t charged with any legal proceedings.

His daughter later arrived at the police station to take her father back home. The man told Wichit Police he was unemployed and recently broke up with his wife.
