Phuket Airport holds major fire drill

Phuket-

The Phuket International Airport today (May 31st) held a fire practice which included a significant amount of smoke as part of the drill.

Our previous story:

The Phuket International Airport on May 19th has announced that they will hold a fire drill on Tuesday (May 31st), 2022 at 10:00 A.M. to midday near Runway 27.

During the practice, a large amount of smoke was sent into the air around the airport. The airport staff has apologized for the inconvenience.

The Phuket Express notes that the Phuket International Airport has to announce this to the public every time before a fire drill because sometimes local residents were unaware that the situation at the airport was just a practice and became legitimately alarmed in the past.
