Fire destroys house in Rassada, Phuket

Rassada, Phuket –

A fire has destroyed a house in the Rassada, Mueang Phuket district just before noon yesterday (May 30th).

Firefighters from the Rassada Municipality were notified of the fire at about 11:00 A.M. at a house near Rassada Nusorn Road in the Rassada Municipality in the Rassada sub-district.

Firefighters arrived at the scene with four fire engines to find a fire was heavily ablaze with black smoke coming from the half-wooden half-cement house.

It took about 30 minutes to control the fire. The house was totally destoyed including a motorbike. Luckily, no injuries were reported.

Mrs. Napapat Boonsomjit, 42, told the Phuket Express, “I am the caretaker of the house. I only stay here at night. When the fire started I was not at the house. Before I went out in the morning I had already made sure that I turned off the lights and unplugged every thing. Most of the items in the house were equipment used for construction and some electric devices.”

The total cost of damage has yet to be identified while the cause of the fire is being investigated.
