Thalang –

A food delivery rider allegedly snatched a mobile phone from a security guard at a college in the Thalang district earlier this week.

The security guard, who works at a college in the Thep Kasattri sub-district, and also asked not to be named, told the Phuket Express, “The suspect, who appeared to be a food delivery rider with a food crate on the back of his motorbike, stopped at my security guard box.”

“He told me he was unable to contact his customer who ordered food in the college. His mobile phone had allegedly run out of money and he was unable to call his customer. He asked to borrow my mobile phone and I said ok.” The security guard explained to The Phuket Express.

“He acted like he was calling his customer before suddenly speeding away with my mobile phone.” The security guard added.

“I have already filed a report to Phuket Police.” The guard concluded.

Phuket Police are searching for the suspect and the CCTV footage has been made available below.
