An injured person, who wasn’t identified by rescue workers, from another road accident in Chalong inside the ambulance was transferred to another ambulance before being taken to the Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket Town.

The minivan driver, whose name was withheld by law enforcement, told local reporters at the scene that he was going through a green light. He did not realize that there was an ambulance passing the traffic light, even with warning lights and loud sirens.

Two foreign passengers inside the minivan had not sustained any injuries but were shaken up emotionally by the wreck. They were moved to another minivan heading to their destination.

Phuket police have yet to state if any charges will be pressed against the minivan driver.
