55-year-old man drowns at a lagoon in Thalang

Thalang –

  A 55-year-old man drowned at a lagoon in the Thalang district yesterday (May 23rd) while he was searching for mushrooms.

The Tha Chatchai Police were notified of the missing man by local residents in the middle of the afternoon at a lagoon in the Mai Khao sub-district. Police and rescue divers arrived at the lagoon and discovered a motorbike sidecar and a pair of shoes near the water’s edge.

It took about two hours before the body of the man was found. No sign of a struggle or other wounds were found on him. His body was taken to a local hospital.

Local residents who reside nearby said the man was known only as Mr. Ae., 55. He normally searched for mushrooms and shells in this area and was a regular at the lagoon. He went missing after telling relatives he was going mushroom and shell hunting. His family has been notified of his unfortunate death.

Tha Chatchai police are looking into exactly how Mr. Ae drowned.
