Phuket to hold ‘Super Sports Laguna Phuket Marathon’ with runners from 70 countries

  Phuket is planning to hold the ‘Super Sports Laguna Phuket Marathon’ next month with runners from 70 countries.

The Phuket Vice Governor Pichet Panaphong said in a press conference, “We are ready to hold the ‘Super Sports Laguna Phuket Marathon’ again as Phuket is a center of ‘Sports Tourism’ in Southeast Asia.”

“This is an important event to attract tourists as evidenced by previous years. This event is going to boost tourism and the local economy. There will be runners from more than 70 countries around the world joining in the running. The marathon will be held for two days from Saturday, June 11th to Sunday, June 12th, 2022.” Pichet explained.

In the evening (sunset) on Saturday, June 11th will be a 5 kilometers race and 10.5 kilometers race, and in the morning (sunrise) on Sunday, June 12th will be a half marathon at 21.097 kilometers and a marathon at 42.195 kilometers running.” Pichet stated.

“The starting point and finishing point will be at Laguna Grove, Laguna Phuket, in the Cherng Talay sub-district in Thalang district,” Pichet added.

“This event is also supporting ‘The Children’s First Fund (CFF)’ which has in total more than 400 children in seven orphanage homes in Phuket,” Pichet concluded.
