Two people injured in Phuket after pickup driver crashes into a motorbike with two riders and flees scene of accident

Phuket –

  Two people have sustained injuries after a motorbike was allegedly smashed into by a hit-and-run pickup truck driver on Phuket Bypass Road in the Mueang Phuket District yesterday.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident last night (May 12th) at 10:20 P.M. on Chaloem Phrakiat Rama 9 Road (Bypass Road) in the Koh Kaew sub-district.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene and found two people, a man, and a woman, lying on the road side near the damaged motorbike with various non-life-threatening injuries. The two motorbike riders were not identified to The Phuket Express by law enforcement or emergency staff.

The two injured motorbike riders told emergency responders that their motorbike was hit by a male pickup truck driver who refused to stop and immediately fled the scene of the accident after seeing the two people were injured. Both victims were taken to a local hospital.

Phuket Police are searching for the alleged hit-and-run pickup truck driver for further legal action.
