A new police Smart Safety Zone launched near the Phuket Checkpoint in Tha Chatchai

Phuket –

A brand new Smart Safety Zone was launched near the Phuket Checkpoint by the Tha Chatchai Police in the Tha Chatchai sub-district, Thalang district, this week.

The Tha Chatchai Police Chief Colonel Sompong Boonrat told the Phuket Express, “Our project is called ‘Chatchai Smart Safety 4.0’. Smart Safety Police are patrolling around famous tourist areas and hotels in the Tha Chatchai sub-district.”

“Each zone is being set for not more than two square kilometers. Police are patrolling in these safety zones with our special police 4.0 system, which utilizes a variety of modern technology. We also have local resident networks such as LINE groups to report incidents as people are part of the project to take care of tourists’ safety.” Colonel Sompong stated.

The Smart Safety zone uses a combination of law enforcement, CCTV, wi-fi checkpoints, and other technology to deliver a better experience for tourists, according to the Royal Thai Police.
