Patong Lifeguards are now patrolling on Patong Beach 24-hours a day.

Mr. Somprasong Sangchart, a representative of Patong lifeguards, told TPN media, “There are many Thai and foreign tourists on Patong Beach since after May 1st the country dropped the unpopular Test and Go program and welcomed back many foreign tourists. Water sports are very popular especially jet-sking and parasailing.”

“We are taking care of tourists along the full length of about 2.8 kilometers of Patong Beach. There are in total 31 lifeguards on 11 areas on Patong Beach. They are patrolling on the beach 24 hours a day.”

“During this rainy season, we are closely keeping a focus on the weather forecast to see the water current situation, before deciding to place red flags for ‘NO SWIMMING HERE’ or ‘’SWIM HERE’ flags.” Somprasong concluded.

The renewed presence of lifeguards on Patong Beach comes as Phuket officials put the safety of tourists as a top priority.
