Phuket car crash brings down three power poles, causes localized blackout for hours

Phuket –

A SUV driver crashed into a power pole, bringing down three power poles in total, which caused a localized blackout for many hours yesterday.

The Kathu Police was notified of the accident yesterday (May 9th) on Number 3030 Road (Kathu – Nakoh). They arrived at the scene to find a white SUV had crashed into a power pole.

In total three power poles were pulled down from the crash. The unidentified driver had sustained only minor injuries.

Staffers from the provincial electricity authority cut off the power while fixing and repairing the three power poles which caused a localized blackout for many hours. The road was temporarily closed to traffic and detours were set up due to the accident.
