Phuket —
The number of foreign passengers at Phuket International Airport went up significantly on the first day of the Test and Go cancellation, according to airport officials.
Yesterday, May 1st, foreign passengers arrived in a steady stream at Phuket International Airport’s international terminal after the unpopular Test and Go regulation was finally canceled. According to the report, nearly 4,400 people from 29 flights arrived at the airport yesterday, and this figure was expected to rise to 5,000 per day this month with approximately confirmed 27 international flight arrivals daily.Â
Mr. Monchai Tanot, the director of Phuket International Airport, told TPN reporters that the airport was operating in line with the Test and Go cancellation. The first arrival was a Doha-Phuket Qatar Airways flight, carrying 324 passengers who were able to exit the airport very quickly. He said that today’s overall result was satisfactory, and some passengers even commented on how good and comfortable the service was.
TPN notes that Thailand Pass, another unpopular program, remains but the paperwork requirements have been significantly reduced and this program may be phased out in the near future.
