The Phuket Disease Control Committee has approved to cancel Covid -19 screening measurements entry for all types of domestic transportation and through the Phuket Checkpoint starting this May 1st, 2022.
The Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew told Phuket Express reporters yesterday about the change to entry requirements (April 26th) after a disease committee meeting.
“The number of new and confirmed Covid-19 cases in Phuket has continued to decrease. In the past few days the number is lower than 100 each day.” Narong stated.
“The Phuket Disease Control Committee has approved to cancel Covid -19 screening measurements for domestic entry which includes Covid-19 tests or proof of vaccination for all types of domestic transportation and through the Phuket Checkpoint (known as the Tha Chatchai checkpoint).” Narong concluded.
Phuket public health office chief Kusak Kukiatikoon told the Phuket Express, “We are still prepared to handle a Covid-19 breakout even though measurements have been relieved. Beds in hospitals are still plentiful for potential Covid-19 patients.”
International arrivals, notes TPN, requires additional steps such as Thailand pass still.
