The Minister of Tourism and Sports held a press conference yesterday to discuss the upcoming “The 26th Phuket Bike Week” which is due on May 13th-15th.
On March 29th, the Phuket Bike Week Association, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, held a press conference regarding “Phuket Bike Week 2022 New Normal Ride Together” at the Playyard Phuket, Mai Khao sub-district, Thalang District, Phuket. According to association president Wittaya Singkhala, the event’s purpose was to promote and support Phuket tourism in the long run by attracting “quality tourists” and a group of big bike riders who may have been financially capable to come to Phuket.
“The 26th Phuket Bike Week will be held at the Playyard Phuket, Mai Khao sub-district, Thalang district from May 13th-15th. There will be many activities waiting such as a motorcycle contest, an American classic car exhibition, and a Miss Phuket Bike Week beauty contest. Moreover, Aed Carabao, a Thai famous country songwriter and singer, will perform at the event too. However, compliance with Covid-19 regulations is still required”, Wittaya said.
Minister of Tourism and Sports Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn added Phuket Bike Week, before Covid, usually received generous attention from tourists and motorcycle lovers, but it was prohibited in the last two years, causing Phuket tourism to drop drastically. Therefore, the 26th Phuket Bike Week is hoped to alleviate tourism and rebuild good relations and confidence with the tourists more or less.
