Motorbike Rider Arrested With 1,200 Meth Pills and 1.4 kg of Crystal Meth in Rassada

Rassada –

A motorbike rider was arrested with 1,200 methamphetamine pills and 1.4 kg of crystal methamphetamine in Rassada, Mueang Phuket district.

The Phuket Provincial Police told the Phuket Express that they arrested a suspect identified only as Mr. Tom, 39, from Rawai. Seized from him were 1,200 methamphetamine pills and 1.4 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. He was arrested in a rental room in Soi Tha Jeen, Rassada, Mueang Phuket district. Police also searched a second house associated with the suspect in Rawai.

The arrest came after police received a tip-off from a concerned citizen that Mr. Tom hid illegal drugs in his food delivery bag. He admitted to police that selling drugs is his second job apart from being a food delivery rider.

He delivered drugs by orders from his unidentified boss and hid the drugs under the soil near his friend’s home in Rawai with a CCTV camera set up to watch. He immediately received 15,000 Baht for his commission per 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine that he sold from his mystery boss.

Tom was taken to the Phuket City Police Station to face charge of illegal possession of category 1 drugs with intent to sell.

Police plan to try to identify the boss that Tom worked for as well.
