Three Sea Turtles Rescued From Fishing Net in Thalang

Thalang –

Three sea turtles have been rescued after getting stuck in a fishing net on a beach in Cherng Talay.

The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they were notified by a local resident that three sea turtles were found stuck in a fishing net that had washed up on Bang Tao Beach. They arrived at the scene to find three Hawksbill Sea turtles tangled in the net. They were 12.5 , 33.5 and 31 centimetres long.

The DMCR told the Phuket Express that all of them were weak due to wounds that arose from being stuck in the netting. They were taken to the Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animals Rescue Center in Wichit for further medical treatment.
