Body of Missing Belgian Man Found on Phuket Beach

The body of a Belgian man who went missing after swimming on Saturday (June 22nd) was found at Freedom Beach in Karon on Monday (June 24th).

The Karon Police Chief Colonel Khundet Na Nongkhai was notified by a lifeguard at Freedom Beach on Saturday (June 22nd) that a foreign man was missing after he went swimming in the sea.

He was later identified only as Mr. LUVOVADIO, 28, a Belgian national. A search was immediately launched and continued into Sunday (June 23rd). However, the search was hindered by strong winds and high waves.

On Monday (June 24th) at 4:30 A.M. the Karon Police were notified that the body of Mr. LUVOVADIO had been found on Freedom Beach.

There have been a number of drownings recently in Phuket, primarily from people disregarding no swimming flags as seen below.
